How a cigar is made →
Young tobacco plants in red soil
The field. Most premium cigar tobacco is grown in Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic and Honduras, with wrapper leaf from as far away as Ecuador, Connecticut and Cameroon.
Hands rolling cigars at a wooden workbench
The roll. A premium cigar is rolled by hand: filler leaves bunched, held by a binder and finished with a single fine wrapper leaf.
An older man in a straw hat smoking a cigar
The ritual. Cut, toast, light and take your time. A good cigar is about an hour of slowing down.
