The most reviewed cigars of 2026, and what reviewers favour
We tracked which of 27 independent cigar review sites have reviewed each of 150 premium cigar lines from 52 brands. On average a cigar had been reviewed by 5.6 of them. Here is what the data shows.
Key findings
- Boutique brands get more reviewer attention than big companies: their cigars were reviewed by 6.3 independent sites on average, versus 5.3 for brands owned by large tobacco groups (19% more).
- Puros (wrapper, binder and filler from one country) were reviewed by 6.5 sites on average, 21% more than multi-country blends (5.4).
- Nicaraguan-made cigars averaged 5.9 review sites, ahead of the Dominican Republic (4.8).
- Mild cigars get the least coverage: 5.0 sites on average for mild–medium cigars, versus 5.9 for full-strength.
- The most-reviewed cigar in our study is the Joya de Nicaragua Joya Red, covered by 11 of the 27 independent review sites we tracked.

Methodology
For each cigar line we searched Google for its reviews and counted which of 27 independent review sites (including halfwheel, Cigar Coop, Cigar Aficionado, Developing Palates and Kohnhed) appear in the top 20 results. Data collected in November 2026. Coverage measures reviewer attention, not quality, and favours cigars that have been on the market longer.
